Charlotte and her twin (albeit) human sister, Alexia, were born to their mother 16 years ago. The identity of the father is unknown. Due to Charlotte’s unorthodox nature (to say the least), the small family were outcasts. What’s more, her mother’s body was not designed to give birth to a creature like Charlotte, with sharp horns and a long jagged tail. Giving birth caused massive hemmorhaging, and the next few years would be the last of her life, plagued with sickness and frailty throughout.

After she died, the twins’ grandmother was the only one who would take them in. A Paladin in the order of Bahamut, she was exiled for taking in a demoinc creature instead of destroying it. Bitter and resentful towards her granddaughter, but feeling no less obligated, she retreated to the village of Haven, leaving her life behind her.

Charlotte grew to be a depressed, emotional, moody, and dark child. The only source of comfort was her sister Alexia, the eternal optomist. She was her constant companion and protector, keeping her from suffering harm at the hands of anyone.

Gradually, Charlotte grew up, hearing dark thoughts in her mind that she would not even confide to her sister. Alexia grew up cheerful, determined to follow in her grandmother’s steps as a Paladin of Bahamut. Charlotte would have a different path, gaining power from the dark sources within her. Her only hope that she could control it before it consumed her or everyone around her.
